Did you know that the Pacific National Exhibition (PNE) grounds were used as a temporary detention camp for Japanese Canadians? Irene Smith, a Canadian nurse, describes the unsanitary living conditions at the PNE Hastings Park in Vancouver. She shares how patients were placed in small living quarters that originally housed chickens and horses. Interviewed by Howie Smith in 1981.
