Chinese Arch in Victoria

Chinese arch on Store Street in Victoria, erected for the visit of the Governor General, the Marquess of Lorne, August 1882. Victoria’s Chinatown grew as British Columbia’s main Chinese trade centre, and became the hub for early Chinese pioneers throughout the province.
