Bird’s Eye View Map of Victoria

The 1889 map below shows the Government house location in Victoria. Ten years later in 1899, Carey Castle was destroyed by fire. A new residence was designed by Francis Rattenbury and built on the same site. It too was destroyed by fire in 1957. The new and still standing Government House opened in 1959.
