St Ann’s Schoolhouse

The community willingly entrusted their children to the Sisters’ classes. Early students included First Nations, Métis and those of African, English, French, and Kanaka (Hawaiian) descent. Among their students were the daughters of Dr. J.S. Helmcken and Governor James Douglas.
