Bigleaf Maple

Bigleaf Maple (Acer macrophyllum) is a tall, branching tree with deciduous leaves that are deeply lobed and often larger than an adult human hand. Macrophyllum means ‘big leaf’. The seeds (actually, the fruits—seeds are contained within them) whirl like helicopters if you fling them into the air.
