Family (Grades K-3)
What does family mean to you?
Family. It’s a simple word, but it means different things to different people. What does it mean to you?
Families come in all shapes and sizes. Families can include brothers, sisters, moms, dads, grandparents—and all sorts of other people! Some families have one dad. Some families have two moms. Some families have grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins all living together. And some families have animals in them, too! Who is in your family?
At the Royal BC Museum we have lots of things that can help us learn about families from the past. We have photographs, special belongings, letters and lots of stories about special family traditions or events. Sharing these objects and stories helps us learn about ourselves, our families, our communities and our province.
Every family has a unique and special story. What’s yours?
