Glaciers

Glaciers form when summers are too cold to melt all of the snow that fell the previous winter. The snow builds up over years, and eventually all of that snow is compressed into ice. Glaciers are still active in the Coast Mountains, the Rocky Mountains and a few mountain ranges in north central BC.
