Whale Headdress

Kwagu’ł artist Richard Hunt, former head carver at the Royal BC Museum, made this spectacular Killer Whale headdress for use at his relative Tommy Hunt’s potlatch in 1980. By a system of strings the dancer can move the whale’s mouth, fins and tail.
